BUDGET!

What exactly is a budget?

A budget is a written plan that outlines how you want to spend your money each month.

A budget assists you in ensuring that you will have sufficient funds each month. You can run out of money before your next payday if you don't have a budget.

A budget reveals:

how much do you earn

what you do with your money

What is the purpose of a budget?

A budget can assist you in making decisions such as:

what you should invest your money in

if you can save money on certain items while spending more on others

For instance, your budget may show that you spend $100 per month on clothing. You could determine that $50 is a reasonable amount to spend on clothing. The remaining funds might be used to pay bills or put aside for anything else.

Why should I make an effort to save money?

You could have funds in the event of an emergency. You may also need to purchase something more expensive, such as a car. Saving money might assist you in purchasing a car, putting down a security deposit on an apartment, home or paying for something else costly.
